Schlagwort: Recycling

Recycling: Environmentally responsible action through material recovery Recycling is an important measure for protecting the environment. By recovering waste materials, resources can be conserved and environmental impact reduced. There are different types of recycling that can be applied depending on the waste stream. Paper and cardboard recycling Waste paper and cardboard are largely recycled and processed into new paper and cardboard products. This not only saves raw materials such as wood, but also reduces the energy demand and CO2 emissions associated with producing new paper and cardboard. Glass recycling Glass can be recycled almost completely. Recovered glass is melted down and processed into new glass products. Recycling glass saves energy and reduces the environmental burden from extracting new raw materials. Plastic recycling Plastic waste presents a particular challenge because many plastics are difficult or impossible to biodegrade. Through recycling, however, plastic waste can be reclaimed. Plastics are shredded and processed into granulate, which is then used as feedstock for producing new plastic products. Electronics recycling Electronic devices often contain valuable materials such as gold, silver and copper. Recycling enables these materials to be recovered and thus conserves resources. In addition, recycling of electronic devices ensures that harmful substances like mercury and lead are disposed of in a controlled manner. Recycling is an important measure for protecting the environment and can be supported by every individual through proper waste separation and the reuse of products.
