Sustainable Natural Cosmetics: The Story of benecos

The story of benecos begins in 2008 in Aschaffenburg. benecos is based in Sulzbach am Main in the scenic Naturpark Bayerischer Spessart. At that time Silke and Stephan Becker developed the idea that attractive, modern natural cosmetics need neither be expensive nor look dull. From this idea benecos was created. The name is a compound of bene = Latin for good and cos = cosmetics. Put simply: GOOD COSMETICS. For benecos this means: certified, sustainable natural cosmetics at affordable prices. Moreover: the packaging must never cost more than the contents. Anyone who looks around drugstores and perfumeries will quickly notice that usually the opposite is true. Satisfied customers recognised that BDIH-certified natural cosmetics do not have to be old-fashioned and that high-quality ingredients and low retail prices are not mutually exclusive.

Through the frugal, environmentally friendly packaging of the products and the use of a minimal advertising budget, funds are freed up that are invested in the use of high-quality ingredients. As a result, among others, a new target group particularly appreciates benecos sustainable natural cosmetics: customers with lower financial means.

Certifications of benecos

benecos carries the BDIH seal for certified, controlled natural cosmetics; many care products are additionally certified according to the British Vegan Society standard. The men’s line is certified according to COSMOS ORGANIC and Vegan Society.

Quality in benecos sustainable natural cosmetics

The benecos products have been certified according to the guidelines for controlled natural cosmetics and bear the BDIH and/or COSMOS ORGANIC seals for controlled natural and organic cosmetics. They do not contain, among other things, paraffins, parabens, silicones, PEGs or synthetic colorants and fragrances. The certifications also represent the promotion of the use of raw materials from organic farming, a responsible use of natural resources and respect for the environment, as well as the application of processing and manufacturing methods that are clean and environmentally compatible.

Furthermore, nature and animal protection are taken into account in sustainable natural cosmetics. The rules for products under organic cosmetics certification (COSMOS), for example, stipulate that at least 95% of the physically processed agricultural components must originate from organic farming, and that packaging should use as little material as possible, preferably materials that are recycled and can be well recycled or reused.

Do benecos deodorants contain soluble aluminum salts?

Soluble aluminum salts are used in antiperspirants because of their pore-constricting and thus sweat-reducing effect. benecos deodorants do not use soluble aluminum salts. Various plant-based ingredients such as citric acid esters or sage oil act deodorisingly and thus neutralise body odour in our deodorants. At the same time they give the skin a smooth feel.
